Hi All,

I need to reinstall VB6 on a machine followning a HD crash! Can I
reinstall from the CD, and then immediately run the SP6 installer to get
the latest environment, or do I need to install the earlier SP's first?

Thanks!

John

SPs are cumulative. You only need to install the last SP.

What Ralph said.  I'd only add, unless you have *specific* reasons for using SP6,
most folks find SP5 to be more robust.

You don't need to install earlier SP's. Install SP5 instead of SP6, as SP6
has many outstanding issues.

I've poked around a little bit to see why this is...heck, I even expected to
find an entire page devoted to it at Karl's site.  <g>

SP6 has some fixes that are benefitial, at least to me.

312218 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312218/)BUG: Deadlock in
multithreaded process if you use Declare statements for APIs in Visual Basic
ActiveX .dll files or .ocx files

295330 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/295330/)BUG: Access violation
occurs in MSVBVM60.dll when using WinInet ActiveX control in a Visual Basic
COM DLL

Maybe I make too much use of ACtiveX DLL's  :|
