I'm 14 years old and I know HTML and CSS well, I'm learning JavaScript right now and I've been experimenting with Visual Basic. I have Visual Studio 2002, so I've also tried out Visual C# too. I'm wondering if you think I should learn Visual Basic. I adapt to new things on the computer very quickly and I seem to have a talent for programming (I'm not trying to brag or anything...) -- MrMan9879 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via http://www.codecomments.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, that version of Visual Basic is not the version we talk about around
here, so you'd be better off asking in a group like
microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.vb. Here's my canned response if it helps
any:

This is a VB "classic" newsgroup. Questions about VB.NET (including VB 2005,
which has dropped .NET from its name) are off-topic here.

Please ask .NET questions in newsgroups with "dotnet" in their names. The
*.vb.* groups are for VB6 and earlier. If you don't see the *.dotnet.*
groups on your news server, connect directly to the Microsoft server:
msnews.microsoft.com.

Wrong group indeed but IMHO:
There isnt much difference in VB.NET or C# or Delphi2005
If u going to use VB.NET remove the reference to the Microsoft.VisualBasic
library so u arent tempted to use all functions. (I just stick 2 C#, and use
Javascript, lot of simularity:)))

UGH
my 2 cents, for your age forget it. Move on to VS.net.

by the time you are ready to work in a working world, vb6 will not be around
as much as it is now like qbasic.

I think you should learn .NET. Whether you choose Visual Basic or C# is a matter of language
preference. If your talented, as you say, you could probably learn both.
