direction finding with bing

I recently found myself in need of guidance where "Bing" might have been of
some use.  I was within 1/10th of a mile of the address and could find no way
to query this service for the remaining distance.  The documentation was
clearly insufficient. In this instance mass transit was used.  The voice
recognition feature was an ambitious feature but demonstrated no way for one
to either state or enter the travelers location intersection and the
destination address.  Any guidance in this regard would be appreciated

You would need to show your VB code as we can't guess what it is!

I am an end user not a developer and did not see a specific forum for Bing
end users.  If there is one please direct me to it.

So you just decided to post in any old group, and
this one was easier than alt.gardening.bonsai? Why
would you do such a thing when you clearly understand
that usenet is organized into topics?

Why not search Bing for Bing forums? If it's any good,
and if it has forums (which I doubt) then you should be
able to find them there. :)

Which do you doubt:  That bing is any good or that there are any forums?

:-)

Personally I dought the latter but am willing to give the former the
"benefit of doubt" for now.

:)  Actually I was enjoying that mild ambiguity.
I tried Bing the other day briefly and it seemed to
be OK. So far I've had very few bings on my
own website. One test will be if MS actually
finds the right page on my site, like Google does,
rather than just dumping people at the homepage.

It does get on my nerves a bit, though, the way
that Microsoft tries to bend the language
for their marketing purposes. There's a way in which
Microsoft culture is just plain vulgar. VB.Net became
VB. A project became a solution. Design became
architecture. Just about everything became "My"
everything... Things get valorized through distorting
euphemism.

And now Microsoft talks about a "decision"
engine -- to imply that important business happens on
their search engine -- when what they really mean
is "shopping".

Bing is (not) the first shopping engine.

...Well...I guess I can see why the MS marketing folks
didn't opt for full honesty there. :)

As one of my random .sigs says;

They say suffering brings wisdom. I say prepare to have enlightenment
beaten into your bitch-ass.
