(1) I have a vb6 app that I want to develop a tutorial for.
I would like to capture the screen mouse actions (a movie) and narrate while
demonstrating the app.
    (a) is there a freebie?
    (b) what is recommended?
© what is this type of application called?   Ha ( c ) turns into ©
    (d) or maybe just a screen capture that I can just click and click to
record images.  Would create a smaller capture file?
    (e) a screen capture I wrote for XP does not work for Vista.  All I get
with Vista is a blank form where the capture image should be.  Vista stinks.
Has anyone got this type of VB6 screen capture app to work on Vista?

(2) I am trying Window Mail Live.  So far looks good for mail and especially
newsgroups.  Does not seem to hiccup like the web based access.  Even has
spell check.  Hooray!  Much better that Outlook Express and Vista Mail.  It
is running on an XP PC and on a Vista PC.  Any thoughts?

AKA hotmail? It's fine as long as you don't
try to reach me. I auto-delete corporate-
sponsored webmail for privacy reasons. In
general their EULAs claim to give them the
right to rifle through your private correspondence
and to store it for their own purposes. I figure
that if someone can't be bothered to use their
ISP, or to pay for real email, then I can't be bothered
to receive their webmail. Frankly I'm dumbfounded
that so many people have no problem with it.
At best it's tacky to live your life ad-sponsored.
At worst it's downright creepy.

agree
for sensitive eMail I use sumpn else.

Live Mail downloads ALL of the folders from the activated accounts.
It took two hours just downloading two accounts (DLS line too).
OK so I save string too.
I gave up on rubber bands when the ball got too large for me to stretch the
last rubber band around.

But it is nice to have all mail accounts in one place.

I've used Camtasia in the past:  http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp

Not free tho, but I managed to get what I needed with the trial.

Also, OE has spellcheck.  Always has.

OK, I see it listed under Tools, but its disabled.
How do I enable it?  If it can't be enabled, I wouldn't
call that included in the feature set.  I have never seen
it enabled....

I'm using OE5 and there seems to be
no spellcheck. ...Not that I'd want it.

I am using the swedish OE, Alternatives was kind a direct translation. For
me it is the bottom line under tools. Maybe it's Settings in english.

I have OE6 and Office 2002, and I can see it in Tools-->Options-->Spelling
tab. However, check this article:

You no longer have spell checking capabilities in some languages in Outlook
Express 6.0 after you install the 2007 Microsoft Office system
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974

English, Spanish, and French spelling is removed when you install Office
2007.

For me, they might as well have taken away text entry.

That would explain it.  I stopped upgrading Office after the XP version.
MSFT sent me a "trial" version some years ago, but the so called
registration server never really worked and all I had to do to register was
indicate what country I lived in.  <g>

Honestly. I have no idea.  Mine has always been enabled.  No difference
between plain text or HTML either.  Did you Google it?  There has to be a
logical explaination.

Maybe I'll do it...I'm curious now.  :-)

From OE help,

"Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following
Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft
PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling
command is not available."

See these links. I recommend that you find one that produce flash files,
since they are smaller than say AVI for example.
