Newsgroup AccessThanks a lot MS. Twit programmers. Service Temporarily Unavailable We apologize for this inconvenience. Please try again later. Inconvenience? My fingers are sore from retyping. I will send you my doctor's bill. This time I typed it into Notpad and saved before copying into this Post window. What I said ... now with explitives added. While on the road, I ty to access this newsgroup through the $#|+ MS web page. I find it very slow and sometime unresponsive and have to click many times. Sometimes double clicking will open the posts responses, sometimes not. So ... what is the best way to access this newsgroup on the road? At home, Vista Mail works well enought, but sometimes it is confused (or is that me?). So, be kind and give me details or a link or two so I can understand. New tricks for this old dog please. Thanks I've never tried this, but couldn't you use your
regular email (Windows Mail?) on any connection? You just need to log into msnews.microsoft.com, and you don't need a password, membership, etc. So why couldn't you log in from anywhere? Or from any PC, for that matter? In other words, if you normally use your ISP's news server for these groups, you don't need to. You can just connect directly, therefore not needing to be connected through your ISP. I have lost SEVERAL posts to various Web forums in the past due to site hiccups, to the point where I have learned my lesson: anything long you type into a Web form should be typed into a text editor first. "...anything long you type into a Web form
should be typed into a text editor first." Must emphasize this piece of valueable advice. Do you use your own computer? If so what OS do you have? If XP then use Outlook Express. Not the best on the block, but it is there and it works. If you use another mail client don't configure OE for mail. Goto Tools, Accounts then click Add button, select news and follow indications of the Wizard. Others have given you the server and you know the group name. Try clicking the magical link that Nobody gave you.
