Can anyone in Australia suggest some good VB6 books. My searches have only
thrown up (or is that thrown down?) VB 2005, which is nothing to do with
what I want.

Amazon still has quite a few....

Hi,

Most of the books that Ken points to, via Amazon.com, will ship to AU (I
ship my book there, for example).  However, some may not.  You can view the
shipping rates link to make sure.  If they do ship there, buying through
Amazon [probably] is cheaper than ordering locally.

Why don't you just buy an English book and turn it upside down?   ;-)

Because he's from Australia...from his point of view, he'd be buying an
English book and turning it right side up!

Going on that, the "Visual Basic 6 Unleashed" by Sams is just what you need.
The cover was attached upside-down to the contents, so Dymocks cut the price in
half - their loss, my gain

Thanks for that. Amazon was out unless I could find ISBNs from it. My son
gave me a book token for A&R and they will order anything in that's in print
in Australia. I want to use $100. I would class myself as very much a
beginner.

It's all right, Aalaan, I was just replying to Mike's inference that us Aussies
are standing on our heads (turn an English VB book upside down). The book I
referred to really does have the cover put on upside down - maybe some
bookbinder in Sams thought they had to put the covers on the wrong way for the
Australian market.

It is a good book, though, along with the other eleven books I've got on VB6.
I usually find something useful in at least one of them, when I'm having a problem.

I don't know which of the VB6 books I'd toss in your direction, though, for a
newbie, as none of them cover everything I needed to know to get my progams running.

This seems to provide a few links.

http://flus.cheapbooks.com/search_director.cgi?query=Visual+Basic+6&x=0&y=0

It's very strange that querying for the following failed to turn
up the same thing as above.

Visual+Basic
VB

Both of those queries turned up results like each other but not
anything Visual Basic 6. Very weird.

Hope it helps.

Thank you Jim. I already have Visual Basic Complete. I have recorded the
ISBNs of the others and will ask my local A&R
