Connecting to & using SQL Server as my Data base

I've never tried using SQL server as my DB and i'm always looking
forward 2 a day 2 do dat. i guess the time has come.
Please anyone with links or tutorials to quickly put someone through

Most people swear by the following recipe:
1) Install SQL server
3) [Create & populate | attach] [a database | databases]
3) Write VB code that uses the correct connection string.
